ASSOCIATION FOR LIFELONG LEARNING AND CONTINUOUS DEVELOPMENT

Who We Are

The Association DABIJA ȘI ASOCIAȚII (DABIJA AND ASSOCIATES) for lifelong learning and continuous development (abbreviated as D&A) is a Romanian private legal entity of general interest, non-governmental and non-profit, apolitical and with legal personality. It operates in accordance with its Statute, freely adopted by its founding associate members who, based on the right to free association, in accordance with Article 40 of the Romanian Constitution (republished) and the provisions of Government Ordinance No. 26/2000, with subsequent amendments and additions, have expressed their will to establish an association. They have committed their material contributions, acquired knowledge, and labor, without the right of restitution, to achieve the Association's activities.

Our Mission: Purpose and Objectives

The Association aims to enhance the quality of professional practice, particularly in the fields of architecture and construction, by supporting education, research, and lifelong learning while fostering interprofessional collaborations.

To achieve this goal, the Association sets the following general objectives:

  1. Supporting formal, non-formal, and informal education to help professionals acquire the skills and competencies needed for career development and to improve the quality of professional practice;
  2. Initiating, maintaining, and developing cooperation with similar organizations, as well as with public and/or private entities—both national and international—to enhance experience and align practices with European and international standards;
  3. Promoting the Association's activities and its members while advocating for their interests and fostering professional collaborations.

To fulfill its mission and objectives, the Association aims to undertake the following activities:

  1. Organizing and participating in courses, seminars, conferences, workshops, public debates, summer schools, exhibitions, campaigns, symposiums, and both national and international projects/programs (including EU-funded initiatives and partnerships with national and international organizations). The training programs aim to raise the overall quality of education and professional training, with the potential establishment of a Lifelong Learning training center;
  2. Developing, publishing, and promoting technical solutions, professional principles, and standards - especially in architecture and construction - as well as books, scientific and professional publications, catalogs, brochures, posters, informational programs, etc., either independently or in cooperation with public and private organizations;
  3. Initiating and participating in research programs, analyzing results, and presenting findings;
  4. Organizing and participating in scientific and technical events to disseminate advancements in knowledge, especially in architecture and construction;
  5. Engaging in and supporting volunteer programs, charitable activities, and fundraising efforts (national and international, including EU funding) to support the Association’s mission and objectives;
  6. Providing specialized consultancy and advisory services to individuals and private or public entities (such as government agencies, local communities, and NGOs), particularly in the fields of architecture and construction;
  7. Developing partnership programs with public authorities to enhance professional training and research;
  8. Collaborating with similar associations at national and international levels through exchange visits to improve expertise, align practices with European and international standards, and facilitate the transfer of best practices;
  9. Working with European, international, national, and local authorities to develop and implement public policies and joint projects, including EU-funded initiatives;
  10. Establishing partnerships and cooperation agreements with similar organizations from Romania and abroad, as well as with public and private entities such as research institutes, laboratories, government institutions, educational consortia, corporations, and independent research hubs;
  11. Creating consortia for the implementation of projects, including EU and international initiatives;
  12. Promoting the image, activities, and projects of the Association and its members;
  13. Defending and representing the interests of its members in relation to third parties, government institutions, organizations, and national or international entities when necessary;
  14. Developing its own economic activities to ensure self-financing;
  15. Providing grants, donations, and scholarships to support education and research.

To achieve its targets, the Association:

  1. May establish branches or subsidiaries in other locations in Romania or abroad;
  2. May collaborate and form partnerships with NGOs, public authorities, and other national or international public or private entities;
  3. May join unions or federations to strengthen its mission and outreach.
